🚗 Visiting Bergen independently? Be sure to book your Norway rental car ahead of time to ensure availability!
These are the best Airbnbs in Bergen… and almost all are in the city center or within walking distance from it. Let us know if we missed any!
Should You Stay at a Bergen Airbnb?
To be honest, the hotels in Bergen are pricey. If you’re on a tighter budget or just want a more independent type of a trip, renting an Airbnb in Bergen is certainly a good decision.
One plus for renting a Bergen Airbnb is that you can cook and it will save you so much money! Grocery stores are ubiquitous in Norway and they are the cheapest option for food, by a long shot!
Your Airbnb will be within a short distance of grocery stores and it’ll give you the chance to cook with local ingredients and still save a couple of bucks.
If you’re concerned about how to get to the place from the airport, here is a fantastic transfer option that will take you from Bergen Airport to your final destination.
Another plus is that hosts will speak English, so checking in should be of no issue!
And, some Airbnbs are located in super charming areas of the city and you’ll get to wake up and have coffee in Norway’s most beautiful city.
Best Area of Bergen to Stay in
So, there are many things to do in Bergen if you are near the city center so I definitely recommend staying as close to the city center and harbor as possible.
However, if you have a rental car, you will possibly have some issues parking. I remember parking in Bergen being such a nightmare (and an expensive one). You can chat with your host beforehand to see where they recommend parking (they may even have a space for you!)
If you’re not embarking on day trips from Bergen and don’t have a rental car- you should be set to stay in the city center with no issues!
The train station and bus station is a bit of a walk from the harbor… so do consider that if you have a fair amount of luggage. There are sidewalks the entire way, however. Or, you can take public transportation to the Airbnb.
Airbnbs in Bergen – Options for All Budgets
This list of Airbnbs was carefully selected by us due to their location or appeal. While some may be more no-frills than others, Scandinavian homes tend to be practical before opulent.
These places will inevitably save you a lot of money on food and public transportation (with the exception of one located outside of the city a bit).
