Hydra is a relatively small island, and you can’t even take a car to the place, making the main port the ideal location to stay when you arrive on the Saronic island.

While it is a small Greek island, there are still a variety of accommodation options available!

Many people visit Hydra on a day trip but I highly recommend staying overnight and enjoying the nightlife after dark!

1. Douskos Port House

Douskos Port House is a fantastic option if you’re wondering where to stay in Hydra. It’s located in the main town, just a short walk from the port and Avlaki Beach. 

With only 6 rooms to choose from, Douskos Port House offers an intimate getaway, so you won’t have to worry about the crowds.

Each room is spacious and modern, but the Junior Suite with sea views is my top pick! 

This suite sleeps up to 3 adults and boasts striking views, a comfortable lounge area, a private bathroom, a work desk, and a flat-screen TV.

Although there aren’t many facilities on-site, you’ll be staying in a great location. The staff can also help with organizing massages, laundry, and room service.

2. Delfini Hotel 

Delfini Hotel is another popular option located in the town of Hydra. This family-run hotel embraces traditional Greek architecture and is just a short walk from the port, so you’ll be staying in a central location. 

Thanks to the hotel’s whereabouts, you’ll be treated to scenic harbor views from the property’s large veranda, as well as some of the rooms. 

There are 9 rooms in total, with the Luxury Deluxe rooms being the top option, as they feature a private furnished balcony with sea views. Alternatively, you can opt for one of the cheaper options! 

Another reason to stay at the Delfini Hotel is the on-site snack bar with sea views and the self-service bar, where you can enjoy free tea and coffee. You’ll also have free WiFi.

3. NESEA Boutique Apartments

Next up is NESEA Boutique Apartments, one of the island’s most highly-rated properties.

This aparthotel is located in Hydra Town, just a short walk from Avlaki Beach and Hydra Port. There are plenty of activities on offer in the surrounding area, too.

There are several apartments to choose from sleeping between 2 and 5 people, and all of them are decorated beautifully. 

Offering plenty of space, a modern bathroom, and lots of amenities, such as free WiFi, these apartments are a fantastic option.

Some even feature a fully-equipped kitchen, private garden/balcony, outdoor shower, and a spacious lounge area.

If you’re wondering where to stay in Hydra, Nereids Guesthouse is one of my top picks. You’ll find that the majority of properties on this island are located in Hydra Town and this guesthouse is no different. 

Not only will this stone building take your breath away, but it boasts stunning views of the town and the Saronic Gulf from its terraces.

There are several rooms to choose from with the sea-view rooms being a popular option. There are also family rooms, so this place is suited to every kind of traveler.

Another reason to stay at Nereids Guesthouse is the staff, who can help organize trekking, massages, and babysitting services.

You’ll also be within walking distance from several restaurants, so there’s no shortage of dining options nearby. 

5. Hydroussa Hotel Hydra

Next up is Hydroussa Hotel Hydra. Located just a short walk from Hydra Port, this property is one of the most popular hotels on the island and it’s not hard to see why! 

It’s set along Votsi Square and is surrounded by lemon trees, so the area is undeniably beautiful. So much so, that it’s previously been a filming location for Hollywood films.

There are 40 stylish rooms to choose from, and they’re perfect for couples after a relaxing getaway.

If you stay here, your breakfast will be included, and free WiFi will be available throughout the hotel. 

Although there aren’t too many facilities on-site, there’s a charming courtyard where you can relax with a beverage, as there’s a bar here. 

6. Hotel Sophia 

Hotel Sophia is set right by the waterfront in a restored 19th-century building.

You’ll be staying in a fantastic location and will be surrounded by shops, restaurants, and bars. Not to mention, there are two museums nearby. 

Hotel Sophia was actually the first hotel to operate on the island, opening in 1934. Throughout the years, it’s gained a fantastic reputation thanks to its stunning location and traditional rooms (some of which offer a private balcony and sea views).

Another highlight of staying here is the complimentary breakfast, which is made up of traditional pies, pastries, homemade jams, and juices.

7. Four Seasons Hydra Luxury Suites 

For those looking to splash the cash, check out Four Seasons Hydra Luxury Suites. This gorgeous property is located in the Plakes Vlichos area within an impressive stone mansion. It also boasts panoramic sea and mountain views. 

On-site, there’s a fantastic restaurant called Tassia’s Tavern. This place is known for its authentic gastronomic experiences and is located right next to the beach. 

If you stay here, you can enjoy complimentary sunbeds, umbrellas, and beach towels, while borrowing a book from the property’s library.

If that’s not enough to convince you, canoes are also available free of charge, and the staff is happy to arrange boat tours and excursions.

There are several rooms to choose from at Cotommatae Hydra 1810, but the Pigeons Suite is the most luxurious option.

It features a private outdoor terrace and jacuzzi, so it is a fantastic option if you’re after a romantic getaway.

Breakfast is included in your stay and typically consists of handmade pies and local sweets. There’s also a lounge area with a fireplace where you can relax, and guests can choose from various wines.

9. Hotel Leto Hydra

The highlight of this place has to be its extensive facilities. On-site, you’ll find a spa and wellness center (including a fitness center, sauna, and hot tub) and a bar area. 

This place also offers various activities including yoga classes, tai chi, diving, snorkeling, and massage services among others. No matter what your interests are, you won’t be short of things to do!
