  1. Even more than the stunning scenery, I love your chance encounters with fellow travelers. (Did those picnickers bring that table with them or was it already in the park?) One of my favorite memories from China is hitchhiking a ride to the Great Wall with a random woman who picked me up by a bus stop. Even though she had bags of produce in her car, she called her family to say she was going to be late for dinner because she was taking a foreigner to see the wall. I was a little worried she was going to ditch me once we were there, but she patiently waited for several hours and then took me back to the bus stop. It made the $25 I paid her seem very insignificant.

    1. Haha that table was definitely already in the park. I assume picnicking there is popular during the warmer months.

What a cool story from China!!! I love travel :)

  2. I don’t know how you’d do it or maybe I’m just weak. But I’d start crying if I was in any of these situations you are in!

  3. Love this article Megan (and the pics too!)! You restore one´s faith in taking risks and open minded adventures. So glad that the expedition turned out for the best. I hope that you really do get back there when your partner comes to visit. Yay for you! And thank you once again for sharing. Hugs!

    1. Thanks so much for your lovely comment, Mark! I never did make it back there due to weather and transportation uncertainty, but we had some awesome adventures instead :) Hope all is well and 2017 treats you well!
