  1. Hy!thank you for your helpful info! We are planning to visist Punta Arenas this December, for 2 days. Question: if we take the full day glacier and wildlife tour, the first day, is it worthwhile to visit Isla Magdalena also or you have a better suggestion for our second day there? Again, thanks a lot

    1. Hey! So I think it depends – will you see penguins anywhere else (like are you going to Antarctica?) If so, I would skip :) If not, it would be cool to do as long as you don’t mind possibly rough seas. I did see a few of these penguins on that glacier/wildlife tour, but not as up close as the Isla Magdalena one. Hope this helps :)

  2. Hi, Thanks for your posts. Is it possible to provide where and how one can check whether the ferry is back to operation to the island?
    Thanks again.

    1. I actually just checked (had to scour around to find their site again!) and it seems as though it IS running again. I have NO idea how reliable things are but it seems as though you can book through https://tabsa.cl/ and there are ferries at 9:30am most days and sometimes 2:30pm (which was similar to the tour times I took). I clicked through and all is in Spanish on something that looks a bit outdated so I really don’t know how it processes if you proceed. But if you do this and remember – please let me know! I will update the blog post with this info! Thanks!

  3. Thanks for the details. We’ll book ours now. I hope we miss the rough seas, but we’ve been warned. The ferry is still suspended as of Jan 8, 2024.
