6 Delicious Restaurants in Ciutadella (+ Map to Find Them)
One of the main reasons I was so excited to travel to Menorca was to eat! So, I was extremely excited when I started doing research and found some tasty restaurants in Ciutadella, one of the destinations on my trip.
In this guide, I will chat about some of my favorite places to eat in Ciutadella, from traditional places with seafood to an innovative Mexican restaurant that I am still dreaming about today.

Delicious Restaurants in Ciutadella, Menorca
1. Bar Imperi
One of the most affordable places to eat in Ciutadella is Bar Imperi, a spot that does just about anything. I initially went there to get to-go sandwiches as I was waiting on my room to be ready for check-in and I grabbed a Menorca salami sandwich that was toasted, filling, and absolutely delicious. It was €5.50. I then went back almost daily after that for their sobrasada, Mahon cheese, and honey sandwich.
Bar Imperi has it all – from croissants to coffee to drinks and more. One of the reasons they are so loved in Ciutadella is that they are almost always open.
You can stop by Bar Imperi at Plaça des Born 5 (and I encourage you to do so because the interior is so cool). They are open daily from 7:30am to 1:30am except on Sundays when they are closed.
2. Restaurant S’Amarador
When I arrived at my hotel, I asked one of the owners what her favorite restaurants were and she said that Restaurant S’Amarador was one of the best places for fresh seafood.
Well, I wasn’t craving the fresh catch but I was in the mood for paella, so we went and had our first of the trip! We also ordered some fried baby squid. Everything was tasty and money well spent. They have a variety of dishes, including a local signature, a langoustine caldereta.
Our bill came to around €91 for the starter, drinks, and paella, but that is pretty standard for restaurants in Ciutadella.
You can find Restaurant S’Amarador at Carrer de Pere Caplionch 42 and they are open daily from 1pm to 11pm. We made a reservation, but it wasn’t that busy earlier in the evening, so you may be able just to show up.
3. Cas Safrà Restaurant
This is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Ciutadella. Cas Safrà Restaurant is a restaurant that highlights local flavors and ingredients but changes up the menu to offer a European flair on their dishes.
Their menu is diverse and we ordered 2 lobster croquettes, patatas bravas (made with local Mahon cheese and sobrasada), cuttlefish risotto with Menorcan prawns, and a grilled Menorcan ray wing with garlic lemon butter. I am picky with skate and like it only 25% of the time, but their rendition of it made me a huge fan. It was easily the best skate I’ve ever had. Everything else was sensational.
The service at Cas Safrà was also fantastic. Be sure to book a reservation in advance as the restaurant fills up and is popular.
You can find Cas Safrà Restaurant at Carrer de sa Carnisseria 9. They are open daily from 7:30pm to 11pm but are closed on Monday.
4. Katú by Smoix Restaurant
Katú by Smoix Restaurant easily served me my favorite dining experience in Ciutadella when I was there. The restaurant highlights the best of Mexican cuisine with an infusion of Mediterranean ingredients and honestly, it was superb.
Head chef Miquel Sanchez has curated a menu around small plates, which was perfect for my partner and me when we went there. We initially ordered 5 (plus a croquette with mole sauce) but threw in an extra at the end because we wanted to try something else on the menu.
We had two of the daily specials, which were a fried zucchini flower and pork tacos, as well as four from the menu. Those four were corn ribs, aguachile with local seafood, ceviche tostada, and a tuna tostada. Everything was elevated and incredibly flavorful.
The interior is fun and not pretentious and there is a terrace area within an interior courtyard. One thing to note is that if you book the 7pm reservation, they may be a few minutes late. This was the case when I showed up at 7pm to book a table for a few days later and it happened when I showed up to eat. Try to book for 7:15pm or later.
You can find Katú at Avingude de Jaume I el Conqueridor 38 in Ciutadella. They are open daily from 7pm until 11:15pm. It is definitely recommended to make a reservation beforehand, however.
5. Puspaayu & Pizza Dolce Far Niente
When I first checked into my hotel in Ciutadella, the owner said she LOVED the pizza place around the corner called Dolce Far Niente. She is from Naples so I took her suggestion very, very seriously but I wasn’t sure I was going to be up for pizza while I was in Spain.
Turns out I was very wrong and on my last night in the city, we headed to Dolce Far Niente, the sister restaurant to Puspaayu (a famous local burger joint that is in the same building).
The interior is fun and hip and there is a huge outdoor terrace and summer bar. I would definitely book reservations for dinner here as it fills up fast.
Puspaayu and Dolce Far Niente can be found at Plaça des Pins 36 and they are open daily from 7:30pm to 11:30pm (for all food) and additional hours for the burger restaurant from 1:15pm to 3:45pm daily.
6. Nibs
Nibs is a wellness cafe and coffee shop in Ciutadella that is located at Plaça d’Artrutx. They offer a variety of delicious things to eat and drink and it was one of my favorite breakfast/brunch spots in Ciutadella.
My favorite thing I ordered from there was an avocado and lime sandwich with tomatoes and a poached egg. It was so tasty and filling… and good value for money.
You can find Nibs at Plaça d’Artrutx 7 in the heart of the city. They are open daily from 8:30am to 3:30pm.
Where to Go After You Eat
Tap Room by Grahame Pearce
I no longer drink alcohol, which means I rarely include beer and wine bars on my travel guides but since my partner loves seeking out non-alcoholic beers (he also no longer drinks), I usually join him on the adventure. We found Tap Room by Grahame Pearce on Google Maps and made a beeline for it after dinner on our first night.
They had a stellar selection of local craft beers (from Menorca) as well as an array from other places around Spain. And to our delight, they had a few non-alcoholic craft beers from Spain that we were able to enjoy. If you’re a beer enthusiast, this is definitely a place to put on your itinerary.
You can find Tap Room by Grahame Pearce at Plaça de la Llibertat 24. They are open daily from 12pm (11:30am on Friday and Saturday) to 2pm (3pm on Friday and Saturday) and 6pm to midnight. They are closed on Sunday.
