Beautiful room with a nice view to the nature, a friendly owner who also lives in the house. A nice private bathroom and a modern shared kitchen, where we cooked a dinner. The house is close to the supermarket. Good location when you want to make a trip to Furnas by a bus or to go on a hike to Lago do Fogo.

Had to get this room spur of the moment when our flight was cancelled and everyone was booked. All co-passengers were desperately searching for a room. I booked this room and my wife called to confirm by 10PM and we had a clean comfortable room by midnight. Owner/manager even called us a ride so we didn't have to wait for a regular cab. Owner/Manager was waiting as we arrived to make sure we were settled. Too dark to see the ocean from the balcony but it was heard. Clean towels were ready. The communal kitchen had bread and butter. Taxi (very skilled driver and nice man) was scheduled for first thing next morning.

It sits right on the water and has several wonderful restaurants and a marina with opportunities for activities like boating or snorkeling. Stayed two days. Lots to do around the island Did not see the town but on the way from Furnas asked to driver to see the church high up on the hill - our Lady of Peace. Very special and spectacular view

Although the places are wonderful, the people at Pestana Bahia Hotel are trying one thing: to take your money! It is unqualified to block your ebbs when you come and, on departure, even if you pay all the obligations you have, the money will remain blocked! For everybody not having about 1050 euros for five days is a horror. It's a shame! I will NEVER return to this hotel! And if you go, avoid your money being blocked !!!.

There are no many tourists in this quiet village so you can enjoy an authentic açorin ambience. It's near of most interesting places to visit along the Island and offers activities such as seeing whales, going to the ilheu or the nearby beaches. There are many churchs and a miradouro with a stunnig view. It's only 27kms. far from the airport. You will enjoy relax after a hicking day. And there are several restaurants whith good products and low prices.

I was on the island 9 days and could have stayed longer! Vila Franca is a quiet village right across from the little volcanic islet (be sure to take their ferry over for a swim in the lagoon!) Great supermarket. Home of famous queijadas. Easy access to all points of the island and nice being seaside. Uncrowded beach nearby (with lifeguards). Favorite restaurant, Bar Caloura, is also near. Our Lady of Peace, one of São Miguel’s must see sites, is a brief drive up to a magnificent viewpoint.francesUnited States of America

Communication from the owner was thorough and clear. We stayed in the rear apartment, Casa do Alambique, which had a nice west-facing balcony and the upper terrace for wide panoramic views. The natural sea pool at the end of walk through the banana trees was a little adventure. Regretfully, we spent only one night; this property would be perfect for longer stays.

Set in the hill of a very peaceful town, with a view of the ocean and only a short and enjoyable drive from a few key locations such as Furnas and Lagoa do Fogo. The drive to and from airport is also very easy and less than 30min. For those who like to cook at home, the kitchen is very well equipped and there is a very big supermarket (Pingo Doce Vila Franca do Campo). Owner is great, very responsive and friendly. Apartment is very spacious and cozy. We felt at home.

Vila Franca do Campo is very safe and nice town. The house is very well equipped, comfortable and has a wonderfull herb garden in the terrace. Michael is an amazing host. His welcome basket saves the first day if you arrive at night. You can park just in front of house. We hope to come back someday.

The pool is fairly small but our teen children still enjoyed taking a dip in it to cool down after a day's sightseeing.

Our room had a huge window opposite side of the bed facing the Ilheu de Vila franca do Campo (and from the looks of it, all the rooms in the villa probably have something similar). The breakfast is made by Rita (one of the owners) and her scones are to die for, everything was really amazing.
